Owning a home is still the American dream and the US Government in cooperation through programs like CHFA (Colorado Housing Authority and Finance Authority) have helped over 84,000 Coloradoans achieve home ownership since 1974.

First time home buyers that are looking for down payment assistance must attend a first time home buyers education class before closing on their new home. Classes in Pueblo are held at NeighborWorks of Pueblo for free or can be attended online for $99.00. Other than attendance of the class there are no other requirements needed to be considered for down payment assistance, however there may be additional requirements that may be required from a lender.
